Why and when do divorce petitions get rejected?
This probably happens when a couple has not complied with the law. Where I live, two people must be separated and living apart for a year prior to filing for divorce. That means not still dating and hooking up, sleeping over, etc. I guess its supposed to show that you actually want to be divorced people. I think if you violate that criteria, the judge may not grant your divorce or may prolong the wait.
