In a divorce case in no-fault state, what happens when respondent?

At least in California, there is no such motion, because contesting the Petition is meaningless. Since the only grounds for a dissolution in California is irreconcilable differences, if the Petitioner testifies that there are irreconcilable, and the Respondent tries to argue that there arent, the Petitioner could logically say See, thats exactly what I mean!.
