Wife tried for an attempt for suicide.?
If a wife is subject to cruelty, whether physical or mental, by her husband then in that case, she can file a complaint against such cruelty in women cell or can report to the police station under section 498A of the Indian penal code,1860. And where she commits suicide due to such cruelty then in that case husband will suffer serious consequences of the case. He can be charged under section 306 or if the case was related to dowry then charge of section 304B of Indian penal code,1860 will also be applicable. And, if husband is subject to such mental cruelty then he can file a petition for divorce under section 13 of Hindu marriage act.
