This new social trend is the outcome of changing priorities of individuals in our society. I would like to enlist the reasons below: Unlike previous times women are educated, earning, self-sufficient and have their own views about life and expectations from their partner. People are so crazy for individual space that the scope of adjustment is low and they are not able to accommodate even their spouse in this space. The concept of matrimonial happiness is dictated by materialistic comforts and purchasing power of the partner Girls want their hubby to act like ATM and guys want their wives to be a model and cultured woman at the same time interference from the family in some cases helps in strengthening the tension leading to split up Lack of patience Increased influence of social media Adultery Adventure to try something new persistent dissatisfaction and quest for something better Unwanted comparisons Decisions of marriage taken by calculating packages, individual wealth and materialistic things rather than personality virtues Lack of fear of rejection from society as there are plenty of options available even after divorce Increased income, affordability, less dependence on each other, emotional disconnect, competition and lack of attention to family Not enough family time and lack of interest in investing efforts and energy in settling or improving the spoiled relations Egoistic attitude, hurry in decision making There are several but I think these are the prime reasons
