Does the jurisdiction in which you reside require a period of physical or legal separation before you can file for divorce? If so, have you been physically or legally separated as required for that time? Be aware that a physical separation (merely living apart) is not the same as a legal separation (a court declares that spouses are separated for all legal purposes). If youve been separated long enough, then go ahead and file for divorce.
