You can always file a divorce petition pro se. If you dont know where he is, you can petition the Court to allow you to serve him by publication where you are, if that is also where he had lived during the marriage. It would be published in the approved newspaper (called the legal vessel) for a period of time (usually 4 weeks). For the record, in Tennessee, there is no abandonment but rather willful or malicious desertion for one full year without a reasonable cause as the grounds for divorce. Pretty much the same, but if youre going to file pro se, its best to use the language of the law.
