In divorce proceedings, what should be done when the parties to the?

All the parties (both the petitioner and respondent) reside out of the jurisdiction? And dont own property there? Then the Petition is likely invalid for lack of jurisdiction. If you and I are getting divorced, the Petition has to be filed in the place where one of us resides. There may be states where owning property may get you jurisdiction in other sorts of suits, but I am not aware of a state where jurisdiction and venue are appropriate for a dissolution if no one lives there.
